Welcome Peach and Boone's​ family of five!

​The puppies were born on July 15, 2024. There are  3 girls and 2 boys. Three of the puppies are Apricot in color, one is white and one is chocolate and white parti.  Their color can lighten or darken as they mature.
We expect the puppies to mature to be large miniature adults; approximately 16-17 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 25-30 lbs.

Puppies are born with their eyes and ears closed, so they cannot see or hear. They rely on their sense of smell to find their Momma and her milk. They spend their days the first week just eating and resting.

Week 1

In their first week of life the puppies spend their days eating and resting. Their eye and ears are still closed. When puppies are born they cannot see or hear, so they rely on their sense of smell to find their Momma and her milk.

Week 2

This second week of life brings great changes for the puppies. Their ears and eyes, sealed since birth, begin to open, or will open soon. This gives them a new sense of their world. They learn what their mother and other dogs look and sound like, and they begin to expand their own vocabulary from grunts and mews to yelps, whines and barks. 

Week 3

In week 3 the puppies are rapidly changing in their physical and sensory development. They are beginning to be less dependent on their momma and learning more about their environment. They are starting to be able to control their need to potty and begin moving away from where they sleep to eliminate.

Week 4

The puppies are starting to become more social and to interact more. The are starting to form attachments.  Their momma's milk production begins to slow down and she starts to wean the puppies from nursing, and they are introduced to other food.​ ​

Week 5

In week 5 the puppies are experiencing a lot of new things and learning by exploring, chasing and playing. They are curious but cautious. During this time they are also starting to learn manners from their mom. ​

Week 6

 Peach's puppies continue to learn and experience new things. Now they are using the door to go out of the house, and have started to play in the big yard.  They love to be outside!

Week 7

​The puppies are continuing to develop - interacting with their siblings, meeting new people, learning to play and investigating new things all occupied this week.  The are eating puppy food exclusively. They are transitioning to little dogs from puppies! Learning to interact with strangers is a big step.​

Week 8

Peach's puppies have turned 8 weeks old and they are headed to their new homes or to Puppy Head Start training! They are learning their place in puppy and people society, but hey still have a lot of growing to do. They won't be considered adult dogs until they go through several more developmental periods and reach one to two years of age.
